Releases
Export a Jira fix version as a release report — release statistics, an issue-type breakdown, and release notes your customers can actually read.
How to export a release
- Open the project's releases (fix versions).
- Select a version, open Exportelier and choose the release context.
- Pick a template and format.
- Select Export.
Special Reports — Release report: source, document template, output format and export action.
This screenshot shows the corresponding tab under Apps → Exportelier → Special Reports. The Jira context action is also available.
What a release report contains
- Release statistics for the version.
- An issue-type breakdown (stories, bugs, tasks, etc.).
- Release notes suitable for external readers.
Tips
- Maintain a customer-facing release-notes template separate from an internal one.
- Export to Markdown to paste release notes into a wiki or website — see Markdown output.
