Digital signatures

Digitally sign exported PDFs so that Adobe Acrobat (and other compliant readers) can detect any tampering after the fact.

How signing works​

When signing is enabled for an export, the PDF is signed cryptographically. If the file is modified afterward, the signature no longer validates and readers flag it.

Open the exported PDF in Adobe Acrobat and inspect its Signatures panel. Check the document integrity and certificate trust separately; a valid signature does not automatically mean that the certificate is trusted.
