Digital signatures

Digitally sign exported PDFs so that Adobe Acrobat (and other compliant readers) can detect any tampering after the fact.

How signing works​

When signing is enabled for an export, the PDF is signed cryptographically. If the file is modified afterward, the signature no longer validates and readers flag it.

Bundled vs. your own certificate​

  • Use the bundled certificate, included in every plan, to get started immediately.
  • Upload your own certificate for trusted signatures tied to your organization. Customer certificates remain available in Standard until Pro launches with V1.2; existing Standard use is grandfathered when the feature moves to Pro. See Plans & features.
